Strategies that could limit or enhance future technological advances
1. The technology in sport is hard to limit with technology evolving everyday. A strategy that could enhance technology in stadiums for soccer is items and stalls. Such as food stations and betting stalls becoming fully automated so that there are no lines, such as people using the swipe and go credit cards but more advanced so that you can do everything from your phone for everything so that there are no lines or queues. With food and vending machines there are usually big lines at important matches, so why not make it that the food is brought to your seat or you order and pay before you go and get your food.
2. Every year sport is becoming more technologically advanced and people are looking at ways for it to become more efficient. But sometimes people are over thinking things and making the game (soccer) more complicated than it really has to be. What if all the spectators and players just wanted the game back to what it was originally, nice and “simple”? Technology should maybe just be cut down a bit of its use and how often the referees and officials refer back to the action replays, etc. The smaller decisions in the game do not need to be raised to the technologies, otherwise soccer will continuously stop and start, adding extra time at the end. Only the major decisions (fouls, offside, corner kicks etc.) should refer back to technologies, as they would obviously be more important.
3. In the past uniforms and equipment used to be really baggy and big, getting in the way and causing the movement of the players to slow down. Equipment and balls were not practical at all; giant balls of leather. If you take a look at soccer jerseys and equipment such as boots, like the Nike Magista, everything is fitted to a players figure so that they can have full movement and great ball control. The uniforms should now do the same, have fitted uniforms so that they don’t drag down the player’s abilities in movement. Most players wear skins under their uniform but what if that was all they needed to wear. Every team could have coloured / patterned skins just like their uniforms now. This would enhance the best possible outcomes from the players and would be a great project for future technological advances.
